It involves bone cement into a non-healing fracture vertebra this procedure is also done under local anaesthesia and continuous x-ray guidance. Setting time of the bone cement (hardening time) of the bone cement is 18-20 minutes. So the patient can be mobilized in an hour’s time post-surgery. This bone cement acts like a glue that holds the fractured fragments together thus reducing the abnormal movement of fractured fragments and immediate pain relief.
